Holywood Men's Shed

Holywood Men's Shed is for all men (and some women too).  The Men's Shed creates a space that brings men together to do practical projects for the good of the community, by doing so, not only can men practice their skills, they can learn new skills and join together with others.  Men's Sheds are a combination of the practical and the social, promoting a feeling of community and wellbeing for participants. 

 

What is a Men’s Shed?


The Community Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the back garden.  Holywood Men's Shed is a hive of activity, you could find people restoring furniture, perhaps restoring bicycles for a local school, making bird boxes, planters or maybe even fixing lawn mowers.  

No matter what the activity, whether it is sharing a cuppa and a chat or building something, the vital ethos of the Men's Shed is to foster connections and relationships between the members. 

The purpose of Men's Sheds
 

  • Foster and pursue practical leisure interests (making, mending, fixing, upcycling)

  • Share skills and knowledge with others

  • Learn and develop own skills

  • Socialise, laugh, have a cuppa

  • A place to do solitary activities together

  • Undertake community projects, share ideas and work together
